Hi! I'm Ashley and what drives me most is witnessing people connect with themselves as they navigate growth and change.

I am drawn to walking alongside people as they pursue healing, develop new skills, and build hope during adversity. As a therapist, I help adults get unstuck and make meaningful changes in their lives. I ask questions to foster self-awareness and help clients identify limiting, sometimes unconscious beliefs and automatic thoughts driving behavior. I help clients attune to their true self underneath their programming. By connecting with yourself and letting go of the conditioning of your past, you can strengthen your inner anchor - a compass to guide and ground you in life.

In sessions you can expect a warm, supportive and non-judgmental stance. I utilize a strength-based approach and draw from Solution Focused, DBT, and CBT modalities. Since the human body is actively engaged in sending signals to our brain and nervous system I also use somatic practices to support each individual in healing. Let's work together to create change!

A Bit More Personal

As a teenager I attended counseling for a couple of years as I was struggling with some pretty tough stuff. Initially reluctant to attend, it was ultimately one of the best experiences of my life. The connection I had with my therapist healed inner wounds and opened my eyes to the role therapy can have in reprogramming patterns of negative beliefs and helping people get unstuck. This experience inspired me to major in psychology and led me to work in the mental health field for a couple of years after graduation.

After building this foundation I decided to explore what felt like a personal calling. This led me me on a journey in which I moved to China and then Mozambique. These opportunities solidified my belief in the ability of humans to build strength and resilience amidst difficult circumstances. My experience was like a master class in the importance of connecting with each individual's personal story from a non-judgmental space through curiosity and empathy. In 2020 I made the decision to pursue my Masters in Social work to advance my professional skills to help individuals and communities build skills for healing. For the last three years I’ve been working in the field of mental health, assisting people in crisis to take steps towards hope and change.

The stats:

I attended George Fox University and graduated in 2022 with my Masters in Social Work. I am supervised by John Walkenhorst, LCSW.
