How Therapy Works
at True You

We start with a 20–30 minute consultation session (held online). This allows you and one of our therapists to connect, explore your goals, and see if it feels like a good fit before committing to ongoing therapy.

Never Done This Before?
That's Okay.

Many of our clients are brand new to therapy — and that's exactly who we're here for. You don't need to know what to say, what to work on, or how this all "should" go. We'll meet you where you are.

What Happens on the
Consultation Call?

In this 20–30 minute video call, you can ask questions, share what you're looking for, and get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit. There's no pressure — just a chance to talk.

Getting Started

No, the consultation is a paid session, because it's a valuable part of the therapeutic process. You'll have dedicated time with a licensed therapist, and by the end, you'll have more clarity about whether we're the right match.

Your first consultation is a one-on-one 20 to 30 minute video call with a therapist. They'll ask a little about what's going on, answer your questions, and talk through what working together could look like. If it feels like a fit, you'll get your first session on the calendar. It's a chance to meet, share what's bringing you in, and see how it feels, with no pressure and no commitment.

Not knowing is completely normal and that's what the first conversation is for. You'll meet one-on-one with a therapist over video to talk through what's going on and figure out the right fit together. No pressure to have it sorted out beforehand.

Cost & Insurance

Individual sessions are $175 per hour, including individual sessions for children and adolescents. Couples and family sessions are $200 per hour. If you have questions about payment or insurance benefits, reach out and we'll walk you through your options.

We accept a variety of insurance plans, including Pacific Source Commercial, Aetna, Providence, Regence, Anthem, and Blue Cross Blue Shield and more. Some practitioners have reserved space for sliding scale payment options. If you are in need of financial assistance please inquire directly with your therapist during the consult about their individual sliding scale policy.

Sessions & Process

Both. We offer in-person sessions at our Oregon locations, as well as secure online therapy for anyone located anywhere in Oregon. Whether you prefer meeting face-to-face or from the comfort of home, we'll find what works best for you. Your first consultation is held over video, so it's easy to get started either way.

Sessions run about an hour. How long the process takes is different for everyone. Some people come for a season, others stay longer. You and your therapist will check in regularly so the work keeps serving you.

Start with our therapists page and see who resonates. Each bio shares how that therapist works and what they specialize in. Still not sure? Schedule a consultation and we'll help you find the right match.

Absolutely. We offer couples therapy and family therapy, and several of our therapists work with children and teens. Whoever needs to be in the room, we'll make space.

That's okay, and it happens. The relationship with your therapist matters more than almost anything else in this work. If it's not clicking, tell us. We'll help you connect with another therapist on our team, no awkwardness and no hard feelings.

It's the same care, delivered through a secure video platform. You meet with your therapist from wherever you're comfortable. All you need is a private space and an internet connection.

Our Approach

Yes. Our practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and trauma-informed at every level. You're welcome here exactly as you are, and your therapist will move at a pace that feels safe for you.

Yes. What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist. Confidentiality is one of the foundations of good therapy and it's what makes it a safe space to be honest. Your sessions, records, and even the fact that you're in therapy are kept private and aren't shared with anyone without your written permission. Because sessions happen over video, they're held on a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, so your privacy is protected there too.
