Are you constantly overwhelmed? Are your emotional reactions causing an impact in your relationships, leading to frustration and pain? Are your defenses high? Are you stuck in “survival mode” and looking for alternative ways to cope with stress?
I provide individual therapy for teens and adults ages 16-65+.
I often work with clients who have experiences with complex trauma. Challenging experiences can cause us to build survival mechanisms and coping skills to get through. I support you in understanding your reactions and exploring coping strategies that feel more supportive to you now and in the future. It’s brave of you to seek support, and I believe that relational trauma requires relational repair, and therapy can be an opportunity to practice this.
I work with those who are managing complex trauma, trauma healing, abuse, anxiety and depression. I focus on those struggling with dysfunctional relationship patterns, identity, self-worth, body image and burnout. Often my clients identify as Latinx, BIPOC, queer or as living in a diverse or larger body. Although, I am open to working with people of many different identities.
My style is relational, showing up to collaboratively create a connection that is full of trust and authenticity. I bring humor and radical compassion. My approach is strength-based, knowing that you inherently hold wisdom and the capacity for growth and healing. I am client-centered, holding your values, culture and goals at the center of our work together. I value meeting you where you are at and supporting you to make changes at your own pace. I focus on the mind-body connection and through exploration, strengthening the guide that is your intuition.
My approaches are drawn from Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Social Justice Frameworks, Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory and Somatic (Body-Based) Practices.
I am from Seattle, WA. My passion for therapy comes from my own experiences of trauma, my identities of being Latina and white and wanting to be the person for others that I felt I needed when I was younger. Outside of therapy, I enjoy being in nature, reading, music and re-filling my cup by being in a community full of creativity and friendship.
I achieved a Masters of Social Work from Portland State University. As well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Western Washington University.
I have worked in non-profits providing trauma-informed care with youth from Latin America in a residential setting. Additionally, I provided case management, peer support and harm reduction services for young adults experiencing houselessness and housing instability, including LGBTQ+ culturally-specific care.
